Now hiring: Alexandria ward councillor

ALEXANDRIA, Ontario

Bill Kingston
North Glengarry will be going to the public to fill a vacant spot on its local council. The position for an Alexandria ward councillor opened this week as Jamie MacDonald was appointed to the deputy mayor's position. It's the latest shuffle on council after Chris McDonell won this month's by-election against MacDonald for the mayor's position. That was left vacant when Grant Crack won the October provincial election in Glengarry-Prescott-Russell. Council will go through the resumes it receives and will select someone to serve the rest of the term, which is roughly three years.
