Firms facing disaster may call Cornwall temporary home

CORNWALL, Ontario

Bill Kingston
Big businesses running into a disaster may call Cornwall a temporary home in the future. A Pennsylvania-based company has signed a deal with Nav Canada to set up a 14,000 square foot workspace with computers, equipment, data services and telephones at Nav Center. SunGard Availability Services already has 32 North American locations including Toronto and Montreal but Project Manager Bruno Berti tells TheCornwallDaily.com why they chose Cornwall. (Play Audio) Berti says there is already a lot of requests for the Cornwall center, which will initially seat 350 workers and could be up-and-running within a month. The company could not disclose now much tax revenue the City of Cornwall would stand to gain from this venture.
