Cornwall man charged for allegedly assaulting wife and child CORNWALL, OntarioMai Habib
A Cornwall man was arrested today on charges of multiple assault. Police responded to a call for a 22-year-old male who had allegedly been assaulting his common-law wife and uttering death threats against her for the past three days. When police began an investigation they soon realized, there was much more to the case. Officers say the accused allegedly assaulted his common-law wife with household items and assaulted her three-year-old daughter as well. The man has been charged with four counts of assault, two counts of assault with a weapon and two counts of uttering a death threat. He is currently under arrest awaiting his court appearance today. It's so sad to hear and to know that there is still so much physical and mental abuse out there! And SO young too! Makes you wonder what kind of upbringing they've( the abuser) has had! Although, that is NO excuse! The most important point here, that I would like to make, is the innocent and helpless children that get caught up in these situations. I do hope this young offender gets, not only jail time, but some counselling too!! We need to try to avoid repeat offenders, by getting them help early!!! That's my opinion anyway!!
