Nine teams competed in two categories.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In the 55-64 age bracket, Brenda Beauchamp and Murray MacLeod took gold. Judy Hart and Pat Maloney brought home silver, and J.C. Brisson and Suzanne Richer won bronze.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The 65+ division saw Pat Durin and Stanley Fraser win gold, Hilary Blackburn and John Dritsas take silver, and Roger and Rose-marie Bouchard take the bronze.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In bocce competition, eight teams competed in the open doubles event. Gold was taken by Bruce Kirton and Joe Stelmach, silver went to Ken Brown and Stanley Fraser, and bronze to Art Buckland and Herb Yellenik.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Action resumes next week with one of the biggest event of the season as the World of Outlaws Late Models will be town for their annual visit, a 50-lap feature event will be on the schedule.&lt;/p&gt;

This year's event is the Great Waterway Classic held at the Upper Canada Golf Course. Brad Fritsch, currently on the PGA Tour pro list will be the honourary chairman of the Morrisburg event. He has been a part of the Canadian tour off and on from 2001 to 2011 and currently ranks 121st in the FedEx Cup standings.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This isn&amp;rsquo;t the tournament&amp;rsquo;s first time in the area. The Great Waterway Classic is part of a four-year deal with PGA Tour Canada in Eastern Ontario. The event was held at Smugglers Glen in Gananoque last year. Opening night at Cornwall Motor Speedway saw a record field of 156 cars.&amp;nbsp;Stephane Lafrance won the Modified feature, Dave Bissonnette took Pro-stock. Nicholas Gauvreau had the Semi-pro and defending champ, Chris Herbison re-took his Sportsman feature. Joel Pilon took the 12-lap Mini-stock while Paul Klager raced into first place in the Mod-Lite series.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

Seven-year-old Sam Drouin (#155) brought home three trophies from the Limestone City BMX Nationals in Kingston. The competition was held May 24th to the 26th and Drouin placed second in Friday's race, fourth on Saturday, and third on Sunday in the Intermediate National Age Group. The event was attended by racers from all over Canada and the U.S. including some from as far away as British Columbia and South Carolina. In 55+ action, Murray MacLeod, of Cornwall, and Pat Maloney, of St. Andrew's (pictured) prevailed to win gold. John Dristas and Hans Opel, of Bainsville, took the gold in the 65+ category. And the team of Pete Champagne and Neil Burke, of Cornwall, won in the 75+ age group. The Eastern Regional Games take place in Cornwall and area, August 20th, with 500 to 600 participants from Eastern Ontario expected to take part.&lt;/p&gt;

For a third week in a row, the race track had to cancel opening night because of inclement weather. The&amp;nbsp;severe thunderstorm Saturday night combined with rain overnight forced organizers to cancel yesterday's program.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Promoter Ron Morin and his management team are apologizing to fans and race teams for these decisions, but say the speedway has no control on weather conditions and trying to have race program last night was impossible with all the accumulated water in the pits and on the track.&amp;nbsp;The management team is working on rescheduling all races.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Racing action resumes next Sunday night as Paul&amp;rsquo;s Auto Body will present a complete race program along with the first visit of the TUSA Mod-Lite Series, it will also be photo and autograph night.&lt;/p&gt;

Wet grounds mixed with cool temperatures forced promoter Ron Morin to cancel opening night at Cornwall Motor Speedway for a second week in a row.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The Canadian Nationals Series will be back with a 100-lap feature race involving the best drivers from Ontario, Quebec and Northeastern U.S.A. Drivers will try and win the $4,000 purse against the best local drivers in the likes of Laurent Ladouceur, Chris Raabe, Joel Doiron, Kyle Dingwall and company. One of the biggest fields of the season is expected.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A huge field of Sportsman will be in Cornwall next Sunday as the DIRTcar Sportsman Series will make a stop in Cornwall for a 50-lap Feature event. The best in the business in the Sportsman ranks will haul to the Speedway for Round One of this coveted series.&amp;nbsp;Pro-Stock drivers will have two good reasons to be in Cornwall next week as the DIRTcar Pro-Stock Series and Mohawk Race Parts Series will host their first event of the season. A strong contingent of invaders will drive in Eastern Ontario for this 50-lap race feature.&amp;nbsp;Semi-Pro and Mini-Stock divisions will have a night off, but they will return to action on June 9th&amp;nbsp;will double features!&lt;/p&gt;

Cornwall is not new territory for Labbe, who played for the Cornwall Aces of the AHL in the 90's. The competition started April 10th and continues until June 5th. In the picture below, Alice Cooper, centre left, and Monique Patenaude, centre right, took home the gold medal in the cribbage competition. Silver medal winners were Marie Beckstead, second from right, and Ann Cook, far right. Gerry Archambault, far left, and Helen Perras, next to him, won bronze.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In euchre competition, Monique and Nick Kazulak captured the gold medal in open doubles. Deborah Patenaude and&amp;nbsp;Joyce McIntosh took home silver and&amp;nbsp;Marcella and Lionel Dorie won the bronze medal. Betty Wheeler and Dianna Moffat won the gold medal in the bid euchre competition.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The gold medal winners will represent District 8 when Cornwall hosts the Eastern Ontario 55+ Regional Games in August.&lt;/p&gt;
